Please see below the requirements to act as a surrogate in South Africa:

A surrogate mother in South Africa may only volunteer her assistance for altruistic reasons. She must also comply with the following requirements:

• Be between the ages of 24 and 42;
• Have at least one child;
• Be employed or can support that she is otherwise earning sufficient income to fulfil her and her family’s financial needs and not acting as a surrogate for monetary purposes;
• Reside in South Africa legally.
